Data and technology are changing the world. Their use and interpretation are increasingly fundamental in every professional sector, and it is crucial today to train new professionals – not only from scientific backgrounds but also from the humanities – who can fully harness their potential.
IFAB 4 Next Generation Talents is the project that involves university students in high-level training on data and technology, bringing them into contact with the entrepreneurial experience of IFAB's network partners.
Participants in the program have the opportunity to interact with companies in the IFAB network, researchers, and other program participants in a virtuous ecosystem that offers the chance to:
How the project works
The second edition of the IFAB 4 Next Generation Talents program will take place in Bologna, from January to June 2024, and will be open to all university students (bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD students), both from STEM faculties and humanities courses.
The initiative, realized with the support of BOOM Bologna Open Minds, sees the participation of 5 sponsoring companies, members of IFAB, excellences of the productive and entrepreneurial fabric of Bologna, also of international relevance: ALSTOM, BONFIGLIOLI, CRIF, EMILBANCA and PROMETEIA.
The project includes four types of completely free activities
6 seminars with distinguished academic experts and testimonies from the business world to delve into the themes of data and Artificial Intelligence, applied in various domains.
4 meetings during which students, divided into groups, will collaborate to create a PoC based on a real business case provided by the sponsoring companies of the project, assisted by mentors. Each company will select its winning group, which will receive a cash prize and challenge the other “champions” in a final event.
Opportunities for students to get to know local companies and receive offers for internships and other job positions.
Throughout the project, each participant will be able to share their expertise with others interested through lectures, videos, flyers on topics related to data, Artificial Intelligence, etc.
IFAB 4 Next Generation Talents is a project built and developed by IFAB with the contribution of Paola Manes, Full Professor of Private Law, University of Bologna, and Eugenia Rossi di Schio, Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering.
