In 2016, Atos launched the quantum programme led by a high-level advisory board and implemented by Atos Quantum lab.<\/p>\n<p>Among the first programme\u2019s goals, there was the creation of a high-performance simulation platform which may allow researchers to develop executable quantum code and, at the same time, to design new architectures for future quantum processing units.<\/p>\n<p>Atos and iFAB decided to share the study and research offered by the quantum simulator <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/atos.net\/en\/solutions\/quantum-learning-machine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Atos Quantum Learning Machine (QLM)<\/a><\/strong> with Italian scientific communities, through an awareness and education programme designed for researchers, students and private productive entities.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-785 aligncenter lazyload\" title=\"\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.ifabfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/quamtum_atom_learning_machine-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-785 aligncenter lazyload\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ifabfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/quamtum_atom_learning_machine-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ifabfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/quamtum_atom_learning_machine-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ifabfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/quamtum_atom_learning_machine.jpg 388w, https:\/\/www.ifabfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/quamtum_atom_learning_machine-80x45.jpg 80w, https:\/\/www.ifabfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/quamtum_atom_learning_machine-50x28.jpg 50w, https:\/\/www.ifabfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/quamtum_atom_learning_machine-381x215.jpg 381w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p>The training course at iFAB\u2019s headquarters will be divided into:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a first meeting, starting from November, during which Atos will introduce to the Foundation\u2019s members the strategic guidelines of Atos Quantum lab technologic programme;<\/li>\n<li>A second meeting with experts of Atos parallel and quantum programming centre to introduce concepts of quantum programming and QLM development and test tools.<\/li>\n<li>A two-day third meeting, during which Atos experts will meet the training course participants in an onboard full immersion about Atos QLM, the highest-performance simulator on the market. Its enhanced version is structured for hybrid variational circuits using GPUs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The last important phase of this initiative is Big Data Foundation\u2019s QLM project kick-off, after the installation of a new simulation system at the Bologna high-performance computing centre.
