Leda Bologni holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a PhD in Robotics. Her expertise covers the innovation policies at regional, Italian and European level, the management of innovation and R&D programmes and technology transfer, also at international level. He is an external expert, independent evaluator and reviewer for the European Commission (from FP3 to HE). Since 1990 she has been working in ASTER (now ART-ER), the in-house innovation company of the Emilia-Romagna Region and of the universities and public research bodies based in Emilia-Romagna. She was in charge of the Technical Assistance Unit for the implementation of the Regional Law for Innovation and managed the regional technological foresight and business discovery processes for the definition of the regional Smart Specialisation Strategy. In addition, she was national expert for S3.
She is Area Manager for “Scale-up of research infrastructures” in ART-ER and since 2016 she has been involved in the relocation to Bologna of ECMWF’s Data Centre and in the realisation of Tecnopolo Manifattura, the hub of the Data Valley and node of the network of regional technopoles.
From 2012 to 2022 she was a member of the Board of Directors of the National Cluster Intelligent Factory. She is currently part of the board of directors of the Big Data Association and of the Steering Committee of the national industry 4.0 competence centre BI-REX.
Since 2018, she was a member of the Strategic Forum on IPCEI established by the EC.
