Gianluca Ortolani, an engineer by profession, has been involved in the field of technology and computer science since the advent of the Internet. As a serial entrepreneur dedicated to innovation, from 2007 to 2009 he served as the Head of the Cross-Industry Area at Elsag Datamat, a subsidiary of Finmeccanica. He is the CEO of Net Service, a company he co-founded. From 2008 to 2014, he also held various managerial positions within the Finmeccanica Group.

In 2015, Net Service separated from Finmeccanica and became a joint-stock company, with Gianluca Ortolani being reconfirmed as CEO, a role he still holds today. Since 2021, he has been a member of the board of directors of the Innovate Emilia Romagna Cluster. Since 2022, he has been the President of the ITALIT Business Network. In December 2022, he was awarded the “Order of Merit of the Italian Republic” honor.
