AI for Public Administration: IFAB at the conference organized by the ICSC Foundation

On Tuesday, 23rd April, from 8:30 AM to 12:45 PM at the Emilia Romagna Region headquarters, a conference titled “AI Act: Artificial Intelligence at the Service of Public Administration” will take place. This event will focus on discussing the implications and potential offered by the recent European legislative package related to the use and development of Artificial Intelligence technologies.

The meeting – organized by the National ICSC Center, Alma Mater Research Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (Alma AI), and the School of Specialization in Public Administration Studies (SPISA) of the University of Bologna, supported by the FAIR Foundation – Future Artificial Intelligence Research and IFAB, and under the patronage of the Emilia Romagna Region and the IAAIL- International Association for Artificial Intelligence and Law – will also feature representatives from the IFAB and ICSC network: Francesco Ubertini (Vice President of the ICSC Foundation, President of Cineca and IFAB), Eleonora Barelli (Project Manager at ICSC Foundation Observatory), and Luciano Floridi (co-lead SII RG ICSC, Director of the Digital Ethics Center – University of Bologna, Founding Director of the Digital Ethics Center – Yale University).

During the event, which will also be available online, the document “Artificial Intelligence at the Service of Public Administration: Guidelines and Scientific Recommendations for Responsible and Ethical Use” will be presented. This document offers recommendations based on scientific studies on the effect of the AI Act on the application of AI in public administrations, highlighting ethical principles, compliance with human rights, strategies for analyzing legal risks, required skills, and effects on organizational systems.
