Event on the impact and importance of supercomputing and big data for our future

NOVEMBER 4th 2022, 3-6 PM
Palazzo D’Accursio – Cappella Farnese, Bologna
And online streaming on IFAB Youtube Channel

During the latest years, our territory has been able to assume a role of national and European leadership in the field of data analysis. The nerve centre of this constant innovation in the academic, economic and social areas is represented by the Big Data Technopole, the headquarter of the new European hub for supercomputing and of the National Centre for Big Data and Supercomputing, a project that involves about 70 partners including Universities, Research Centers and companies from all over the country.

The event organized by IFAB aims to deepen the opportunities that these places represent for the development of Italy and Europe, thanks to an extraordinary concentration of high supercomputing technologies and to the ecosystem of excellences in the fields of research and knowledge. At the heart of this initiative, there will be two panels of discussion. The first one is dedicated to the investments in new technologies and to the synergies between academia and industry: together, they will produce positive impacts for companies and citizens, by leading the evolution of society towards more sustainable models of production and consumption. The second one is an interesting study on medicine, a field that is constantly growing: thanks to the intelligent use of data and artificial intelligence, it’s making important progresses both in the treatment of diseases and in management.
